For the last 30 days – February 10 to March 11 – we have averaged below-freezing temperatures daily, with nearly zero precipitation in Tromsø. The average temperature was -6.0°C (21.2°F), 2.2°C or 4°F below the normal (which is taken by as the 30-year average from 1961-1990).  Two days ago, in March 10th, we just had the lowest temperature recorded in town at least for the past 13 months, of -13.1°C. Total precipitation in these last 30 days was 5.6 mm (February alone was 1.6 mm, with the normal for February being 87 mm!). So, yes, while it’s been very very sunny and beautiful here in Tromsø, it’s been also very very cold.
